This policy describes how the NotesPrompter Chrome extension handles information. For questions, contact blue@poweredbysage.com.

What NotesPrompter does

NotesPrompter displays the current Google Slides speaker notes in a teleprompter view and provides reading and slide-navigation controls. It operates locally in your Chrome browser.

Information used on your device

Speaker notes and slide information. The extension reads the speaker notes currently rendered in Google Slides Presenter View, along with the current slide number, slide count, and relevant presentation controls. It uses this information to display your notes, follow slide changes, and perform navigation you request. Notes are held in the browser's running page and are not written to extension storage or uploaded by NotesPrompter.

Presentation and window identifiers. The extension uses the active Google Slides presentation's URL/deck identifier and Chrome tab/frame identifiers to connect the correct presenter and slideshow windows. Temporary connection information is held in Chrome session storage. It is not a record of your general browsing history and is not transmitted to the developer.

Preferences and profiles. Text size, reading width, target position, scrolling speed, end-marker color, mirror mode, toolbar visibility, optional slideshow control, clicker mappings, and any profile names you enter are saved in Chrome's local extension storage. They are not synchronized to an account by NotesPrompter.

Transmission, sharing, and tracking

The extension makes no network requests. It does not send speaker notes, presentation identifiers, or preferences to the developer or other third parties. It does not include analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, remote scripts, or a NotesPrompter login. It does not sell user data or use it for advertising, lending, or unrelated purposes.

Google Slides and Chrome may handle data as part of their own services under Google's policies. This policy describes the behavior of NotesPrompter itself.

Permissions

The extension's storage permission saves preferences and temporary presentation connections. Content-script access to docs.google.com and inherited Google frames allows it to detect Presenter View, read rendered speaker notes, and respond to the user's presentation controls. It does not request Google Drive API access, account credentials, cookies, or general browser-history access. The teleprompter opens only in Presenter View.

Your controls and retention

You can close NotesPrompter at any time. Audience-window control is optional and off by default. Saved hardware profiles can be deleted in Settings. Reset display and controls restores preference defaults while retaining named profiles; delete those separately if desired. Uninstalling the extension removes its local extension data. Chrome session connection data is temporary and is cleared when the browser session ends or the extension is reloaded, disabled, or removed.

Support messages

If you email support, your email address and the information you choose to include are handled through our email service to respond to your request. The extension does not send these messages automatically. Include only the information needed to describe the issue; speaker notes are not required for routine support.

Limited use

NotesPrompter uses information accessed through the extension only to provide its disclosed teleprompter and presentation-control features. Its use of user data adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

This website

The NotesPrompter documentation website is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub logs visitors' IP addresses for security purposes under the GitHub Privacy Statement. This website contains no analytics scripts, cookies, or forms added by NotesPrompter. Visiting the website is separate from using the extension; the extension does not contact this website.

Changes and contact

If the extension's data practices change, this policy and the Chrome Web Store disclosures will be updated. Contact blue@poweredbysage.com with privacy or support questions.
